I would like to remind people on social media that most of the time, our observations are limited and skewed towards urbanites (people in cities), to medium and high income groups.
Mostly our friends and colleagues who are our friends in FB (shows that they are as privileged as us) and have the ability and means to read daily news (shows abundance of time and proper education).
Anecdotal evidence and stories don't tell the reality of our failing economy and the hardships of the poor.
Do understand that many hardcore poor and low income population do not even have the time, money and means to be on social medias. Liking and sharing photos and funny stories alike.
Thus, some issues like poor students/working graduates/families are unfairly mistreated due to them being compared with other 'poor' urbanites.
We know of friends/neighbors/relatives who are poor but still have smartphones.
What we cant see are the people who can't even afford lunch or dinner.
And here we are (privileged enough to be on social media) telling them they're not working hard enough while they don't even own a smartphone let alone read your rantings on FB or Twitter.
Remember, our observation are always LIMITED, BIASED and SKEWED.
Do not let our SHORTSIGHTEDNESS make it even worse for deserving folks. The real hardcore poor (whom unfortunately, most probably, can't read this post)
