Berlapang dada

Masing masing ada idea sendiri, pemikiran sendiri, telahan sendiri, pendapat sendiri, pembacaan sendiri, pengamatan sendiri, geliga sendiri, mata sendiri, telinga sendiri, mulut sendiri.

Selective ignorance

As per everything, we choose what we want to believe and selectively ignored and acknowledge the parts that are in line with what we believe.

example:

shared news about violence of someone that we dislike and condemning them but ignored to share news about that same someone doing goodwill.

think again. are you actually reading what's really happening or are you being fed with what you want to believe in by people you selectively chose to befriend?

Rahmat

Labels

We are so into labeling people that we are labeling ourselves.

We are so into ourselves that for every 'label' people throw at us (presumably bad labels) we counteract with another 'label' (presumably good labels) justifying our actions.

We are so into our 'leaders' that we even forgot our humanity and conscience. Whatever the 'leaders' said is the truth that if one criticize it it must be with bad intention. Such is the folly of idolatry.

We are so into what we can't 'see' that we forgot what we 'see' everyday. If you can believe the history books and whatever dated books without second thought, why can't you believe your senses, things happening right in front of you.

We are so into 'groups' that the first thing we asked strangers are their background so we can properly 'group' them. Didn't God said unity in diversity?

We are so into ourselves we forgot peace, success, and progress comes when we treat unto others how we treat ourselves.

Teguran bertauliah

Renung-renungkanlah.

Financial freedom

Asal kaya berduit sikit (alhamdulillah berkat business sampingan Tuhan maya Kaya), terus sinis2 kutuk2 org middle and low class income yg susah payah jaga kewangan and jimat cermat nak make it until end of month.

1- People have their own learning and discovery curve. They'll probably get enlightened (nak buat business ke investment ke) someday. It's good that you already are, but don't look down to those who still isn't but probably will, you NEVER know.

2- Not everyone are exposed and have readily accessible access to financial knowledge. Even if they do, they might be so bogged down with their life they can barely afford the time. For all you know they tried, put it at the back of their mind, have reminders somewhere on the fridge.... until the kapchai suddenly breaks down and poof! You know this is totally realistic scenario

3- Rezeki di tangan Tuhan bukan? dan atas usaha hambaNya bukan? if these people tried and tried their hardest to make a decent life what would you say about their rezeki? You dont. You help them whenever possible and supports them if you're better. If you'll only be cynical better say nothing at all. For all u know, they'll thank God for not letting them be a jerk like you.

4-It's their life. Yes, they look like they need help. Yes, they look like they'll be better with more financial clout. But they're living. No, it's not the best option. Coming back home everyday to faces of your loved ones, to be able to feed the mouths of your family. Put some small changes into that 'dream' house tabung. It gives these 'uneducated', 'pemalas', 'taknak-spend-masa-sikit-nak-dengar-ceramah-saya-untuk-jadikan-anda-jutawan' folks HOPE. After all, hope of a better future keeps everyone alive.

p/s - I know they're some peeps out there that are genuinely sincere with no bad intention whatsoever in helping people getting their financial freedom. Keep up the good work. May God bless you!

The cattle herder, a maid, a prostitute, and a farmer

I've read stories of a cattle herder, a maid, a prostitute, a farmer that all were said will go to heaven because of their act of kindness and/or bravery and belief in God.

I have very strong doubt they have a degree or got into an Islamic school or memorized most of the holy book.

Would you say they are lowly if they dont?
Or wouldn't you say I wish I could get into heaven myself.

Let us stop pretending our mouth is the words of God.

For heaven is God's business and even the worst in our eyes probably have a better chance than us.

1MDB, Najib Razak, politics and deceits

A gentle reminder to our Prime Minister Najib Razak, cabinet members and all the Umno Supreme Council members, and whoever that backs him up who have all colluded with his grand corruption scheme.
.
.
There are 3 things I would like to remind you;
.
.
.
1 - THE INTERNET NEVER FORGETS
.

Once anything gets into the internet. It will stay there forever, doesnt matter how much you try to remove it. Look no further than WikiLeaks, the most powerful nation in the world can't stop them from exposing their secrets day after day until now.

What does this mean?

1.1 - That means that people wont forget that on July 2nd 2015, The Wall Street Journal published an article that reports that money from state-owned funds were credited into his personal accounts.

1.2 - On July 8th 2015, you instructed your lawyer to consider action against WSJ for conspiracy. Nothing happen until today.

1.3 - On July 15th 2015, BN's Abdul Rahman Dahlan came out with a video confession of a former Sarawak Report's editor that Claire-Brown 'tampered' with the documents as part of efforts to topple Najib. The former editor was discredited and nothing happen until today.

1.4 - On July 30th 2015, BN's Ahmad Maslan denies that any money got into Najib's personal bank account.

1.5 - On August 1st 2015, Abdul Rahman Dahlan basically said it's okay for party president to have a 'trust account' on behalf of the party. Thus admitting the money indeed went into Najib's personal account.

1.6 - On August 3rd 2015, MACC that stands for Malaysian ANTI CORRUPTION Commission (oh how ironic) admitted the money inside Najib Razak's account came from donors. Yes, he has RM2,600,000,000 in his personal account. <--- this is ethically and morally wrong!
.

Conclusion:
-Threaten to sue WSJ.
-Blocks Sarawak Report.
-Suspends The Edge
-Dropped MuhyiddinYassin from cabinet.
-BTW the money is from donors!

Rest assured, ALL these will stay in the internet, forever.

Even if you try to curb, block, come out with new laws, etc. to stop the spread of 'harmful' rumours, unwanted news, people will ALWAYS find a way, always.

Just like how you tried to block Sarawak Report's website and how China despite its attempts ultimately couldn't stop its netizens from accessing blocked websites. You cannot stop the internet.

The internet never forgets.
.
.
.
2 - INTERNET PENETRATION IS 66%
.

By 2017 it is estimated there will be 19,187,000 internet users in Malaysia.

What does this mean?

2.1 - It means that over three fifths (62%) of Internet users in Malaysia access social media networks daily. 35% of Internet users in Malaysia reach for their mobile phone before they even get out of bed.

2.2 - Facebook is by far the most popular application with 88% visiting the site weekly. WhatsApp weekly use is at 72%.

2.3 - Smartphone users now account for 51% of the population. That means 1 in 2 Malaysian adults are smartphone users.

2.4 - This means that the age of controlling mainstream medias such as Utusan and Berita Harian NO LONGER WORKS. This means TV1, TV2, and TV3 biased reportings will have very little to no effect on the citizens anymore. Suddenly, there's more than one 'truth' other than defined by the government.
YOU CANT CONTROL NEWS SOURCE ANYMORE!!

2.5 - Now even the atoks and maktoks at kampung also can use whatsapp! News, rumours, gossips, wrongdoings, gory accidents, everything TRAVEL FAST! faster than you can control them.

2.6 - Anyway, Malaysia has become very urbanised with 71 % of the population living in urban areas. There might not be much rural areas voters for BN to rely on anymore.

Voters are now internet savvy and can access news from many sources, which allow them to be BETTER JUDGES of the actions and words of any politician.
.
.
.
3 - THE NEW FRONTIER IS THE YOUNG ADULTS
.

3.1 - 48% of Malaysia’s population are BELOW 28 years old. It is estimated that 2.6 million NEW voters age between 20-25 comes 2018 or the next General Election.

3.2 - There are already >5 million existing young voters registered. Not everyone voted in the last GE.

3.3 - Thanks also to the Internet, Malaysia's Generation Y voters are becoming more politically conscious and are expected to have a bigger say in the outcome of future elections

3.4 - An analysis of the March 2008 general election results shows that many newly-registered voters and those below 30 supported PKR, PAS and DAP candidates. And look at what happened during the last GE. The young voters made their VOICES HEARD.

3.5 - “The younger generation is indeed a MAJOR FACTOR in the recent 13th general election in terms of the way the voting pattern had taken shape.

3.6 - The young voters, who are largely techno-savvy and have access to the Internet, are WELL-INFORMED about, and sensitive to, issues of the day such as social injustice, CORRUPTION, racism etc.”

3.7 - “Many have studied overseas, many are exposed to the events happening in other countries like Arab Spring, Occupy Wall Street, etc. This has led to an increased sense of awareness and a knowledge of their POWER AS A FORCE OF CHANGE,”

Mustafa says that given the kind of exposure to information from various sources both on and offline, it is unsurprising that many of them have gone BEYOND issues of ethnicity, which still haunts much of the older generation.

- paragraphs taken from http://www.establishmentpost.com/young-and-charged-up/
.
.
3.4 - Be careful of the young generations. With the power at their hand, you'll be a fool to constantly angers them. If the past GE13 has shown anything, it showed just how much, the internet, social media, and the youths can come together and reminds our leaders their RESPONSIBILITIES TO SERVE THE PEOPLE!
.
.
p.s - this does not mean the opposition is clean and angelic either. clean up your mess too. but let's leave that to another post.

p.p.s - cant wait for 2018

p.p.p.s - there's this political move called 'GERRYMANDERING' that might mean that even if 60% of registered voters voted for opposition, the BN will still be in power. Read on this.

Taksub

The state of capitalism and developers

For the past few years, construction costs are in DECLINE OR IN STATIC but the prices of properties still go up. Except for lands at prime areas, most developers bought or own landbanks BEFORE the property bubble started. Issue of lands getting expensive is basically just a push to justify jacked up selling price. They owned the lands BEFORE it got expensive.

This is capitalism at it's best where supply and demand push prices sky high and developers gain >200% of revenues. Before the property bubble it's normal to get just 50% revenues which is already a lot to be honest (but if we are being realistic then we should acknowledge that every business want to get as much revenue as they can).

This is why you see every other companies that are not in construction before like F&N, Jakel, biscuit factory owner, or anyone that have substantial or strategic landbanks all rushed in to get into the property business. It's very very very profitable.

Unless there's a property crash, realistically we will never get to see property prices go down ever. That being said, all the properties at all the good locations are getting snapped at at neck breaking speed.

Will you succumb to the greediness of the businesses? kalau loan bank lulus, of course :P

Just a rant *sigh*

Good deeds and sincerity

I felt offended and irritated when someone applauds a non-religious or non-Muslims who extolled supposedly Islamic virtues with words like, "even though s/he's a non-Muslim, s/he still upholds this and this".

You think only Muslims do good meh? Everyone else is beneath you?

Praise a good deed where it's due. From whoever, wherever, for whatever.

If you're sincere in your praise, you wouldn't highlight anything else but only the deed done.

Ikhlas.

New Central Park at current Royal Selangor Golf Club

Before we jump with joy about the idea of having a park as big as Central Park at the heart of KL, let's give some thought about the BILLIONS we can use elsewhere which is way more pressing such as affordable housing, public transportation, upgrading/replacing power plants, infrastructures etc.

And we already have KLCC Park, Taman Tasik Perdana, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa that could be upgraded to make it more attractive. With the current government's way of managing the taxpayer's money and their handling of Bukit Kiara (which has not been gazetted yet and have seen more and more encroachment) just screams exploitation don't you think?

I say NO. Not now.

Re: Fewer parking bays, congestion charges for KL

I love the idea of reducing the numbers of private vehicles getting into the city but only if public transportation and connections are as seamless and connected as other "world class" cities as cited.

The idea may work if it's restricted to certain specific areas in the city. Not a blanket charge to all vehicles coming in as not all areas are well connected. To increase effectiveness, buses should work as connectors between stations and that means the need to double the number of buses from current fleet.

Provide more park and ride facilities at current stations too. As it is, there's too few parking space for users to park. Most stations are not located in housing areas thus it's very important aspect that need to be considered.

“Taxi drivers must find ways to improve their services such as providing a comfortable ride, be friendly and use a fare meter. Taxi drivers must understand that it is they who opened up the opportunity for alternative ride services to rise because of their poor services to passengers.”

Reminder to our privileged selves

I would like to remind people on social media that most of the time, our observations are limited and skewed towards urbanites (people in cities), to medium and high income groups.

Mostly our friends and colleagues who are our friends in FB (shows that they are as privileged as us) and have the ability and means to read daily news (shows abundance of time and proper education).

Anecdotal evidence and stories don't tell the reality of our failing economy and the hardships of the poor.

Do understand that many hardcore poor and low income population do not even have the time, money and means to be on social medias. Liking and sharing photos and funny stories alike.

Thus, some issues like poor students/working graduates/families are unfairly mistreated due to them being compared with other 'poor' urbanites.

We know of friends/neighbors/relatives who are poor but still have smartphones.

What we cant see are the people who can't even afford lunch or dinner.

And here we are (privileged enough to be on social media) telling them they're not working hard enough while they don't even own a smartphone let alone read your rantings on FB or Twitter.

Remember, our observation are always LIMITED, BIASED and SKEWED.

Do not let our SHORTSIGHTEDNESS make it even worse for deserving folks. The real hardcore poor (whom unfortunately, most probably, can't read this post)

Apa guna?

Malahan tidur pun ibadah.

p.s - masuk syurga bukan sebab pahala tau. semuanya atas redha Tuhan kamu semata.

Re: Closing off 24 hours eateries.

The youths of Malaysia that live and breath mamaks (these guys will be affected the most) will surely testify it's not a breeding ground for social ills and whatnot.

Instead, mamaks are one of the most courteous guys you'll ever meet. will never pull faces when kena panggil banyak kali, always there on your beck and call, recites the full menu when asked upon, and never kurangkan manis of teh tarik kurang manis.

I'm having a hard time imagining youths becoming 'bad' because of curry kambing.

Why these pakciks so sibuk want to close a place where Malaysians as whole irrespective of social status, race, religion, and age get to enjoy local delicacies, watching their favorite football games, exhanging pleasantries, duping people into MLMs, or just enjoying the cool night breeze we would never know.

Stop focusing on the wrong issue and start facing the hard truths of income disparity, faltering economy, uncontrolled inflation, simmering religious tension, lost education opportunities and billions of ringgit that mysteriously disappear.

p.s - really, time buat karangan bertajuk masalah sosial xde pulak cikgu ajar tempat mamak sebagai contoh
